Zoomcar - Associate Engineering Director - Java Technologies (10-14 yrs)

Responsibilities :

- You will play a critical role in growing the engineering team to support the rapid business growth, and You will partner with the engineering and product team to deliver the product roadmap.

- Work closely with Engineering Managers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.

- Independently own, drive, and evolve product systems/sub-systems.

- Architect highly scalable, highly available systems with minimal guidance.

- Suggest new architectural elements to improve the existing system.

- Translate business requirements into scalable and extensible designs.

- Continuously refactor applications to ensure high-quality design.

- Write high-quality code that is modular, functional, l and testable; Establish the best coding practices.

- Formally mentor junior engineers on design, coding, and troubleshooting.

- Practice and advocate the best SDLC processes in the team.

- Work with the Engineering Head and with other functional leaders in the company.

- Instill best practices for software development, ensure designs meet requirements and deliver high-quality work on tight

schedules.

Requirements :

- 10+ years of experience in consumer platforms/products using Java/J2EE tech stacks.

- Exposure to other languages like RoR, GO, and open sources will be desirable.

- Very strong object-oriented design skills, and awareness of design patterns and architectural patterns.

- Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Highly collaborative and comfortable with both high-level planning and tactical execution.

- Heuristics analysis of behavioral and transactional analytics to support product improvements.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced internet start-up environment.

- Experience in technical mentorship/coaching is highly desirable.

- Team handling experience is mandatory.
