Network Architect

The primary responsibility of this position is to design and lead deployment of HPE enterprise network across Routing Switching, Wireless LAN, WAN/SD-WAN, Data Centers, Wireless and Security disciplines.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop end-to-end technical network architecture for enterprise Campus and data center networks
• Develop and support comprehensive network LAN, WAN, Wireless and security solutions that meet requirements and integrate into the overall HP Enterprise network and security architecture.
• Create and maintain standard builds/templates and apply advanced network and security engineering and architecture knowledge on complex and diverse problems.
• Prepare and maintain network documentation, diagrams, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct network audits, assessments, and reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Evaluate current network and security systems to propose and implement network system enhancements on Network Switches, Routers, Internet Firewall Services, VPN and other Network Management devices - Defines, designs and implements network and security solutions.
• Lead IT network infrastructure project design, reviews and ensure network architecture goals and requirements and met and aligned with business objectives.
• Performs a full range of complex network designs encompassing multiple technologies and technology layers (LAN, WAN, OS, IOS, ) within a single enterprise network
• Perform post design support to include installation, configuration, and tier III OM support for both enterprise and field deployed systems including local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) .
• Troubleshoot and analyze significant, complex network problems that require evaluation of intangibles
• Research network trends and create future network roadmaps
• Participate in IT network infrastructure project design, reviews and ensure network architecture goals and requirements and met and aligned with business objectives.

• Well versed in cloud architectures, software defined networking, data center switching technologies, and securing virtual environments (AWS, Azure, Google desired)

• Conduct network audits, assessments, and reviews to ensure compliance with Aruba standards and best practices.
• Train and mentor team of network engineers

• Write functional requirements/specifications documents.
• Proven ability to accomplish assigned tasks with little supervision

• Establishes best practices through collaboration with IT Security and IT Infrastructure Operations

• Ability to manage and prioritize complex, changing workloads in a challenging technical environment
• Ability to travel approximately 20%

Technical Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of and experience with networking and network protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, Routing protocols (BGP/OSPF) , L2 VPN, EVPN and MPLS /L3 VPN.
• Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi protocols including all standards of 802:11a/b/g/N/A.c and supporting protocols including DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, TCP/IP, UDP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPN, ACL s, LDAP etc
• Experience managing Datacenter technologies with Juniper switches and routers.
• Experience with SDN, SD-WAN products and services ( Silver peak , Aruba),
• IPv4 and IPv6 experience is must and Strong understanding of network infrastructure, IP addressing, IP traffic management
• Experience of remote access solution (VPN ), Zero Trust Network Access ( ZTNA) solution and Secure Web Gateways/CASB solutions .
• Knowledge, skills and experience with Aruba routing, switching, and wireless hardware, software and protocols including Aruba Mobility Controllers, Aruba Instant Aps, Aruba Central, Aruba Activate, Security, Aruba ClearPass
• Design, configure, deploy, and optimize Aruba Clearpass and Wireless solutions for various network scenarios and requirements.
• Creates or edits for recommendation and approval IT artifacts, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standard, guidelines, best practices and position papers.
• Monitor and analyze network performance and health using Aruba tools and best practices
• Familiarity with DHCP/DNS/IPAM ( Infoblox) , Load balancers ( F5 etc ) is plus
• Any experience in network security including: Device Hardening, IDS/IPS, SIEM, Firewalls, and IPSec, vulnerability assessment and intrusion detection is an added advantage .

Education and Experience requirements

• Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent industry experience.
• 10 years experience in large enterprise network environments
• 10 years experience managing networking technologies in both LAN and WAN environments.

• 7 years of progressive experience in network architecture, design, engineering and implementation in global IT networks and network security

Tools: Proficient in Microsoft Visio

Certifications:

JNCIE (DC or ENT ) /CCIE , JNCNP or CCNP ( enterprise) , Aruba Certifications (SD-WAN /Wireless)

Communication:

• Able to design and present high-impact messages to customers senior level management.
• Able to use a wide variety of presentation tools to persuasively communicate complex messages to multiple audience levels, including senior level management.
• Ability to use prepared and create complete original materials to communicate with the customer. Communicates a mix of Strategic information and Tactical information.
• Excellent speaking and writing skills.
