About the Role:
As the Utility Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of Utility Engineers, ensuring high-quality inspections, data accuracy, and process improvements within the electric utility sector. In this role, you will oversee the cataloging of utility assets, identify equipment issues and potential hazards, and collaborate with utility companies to meet project goals and deliverables.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of Utility Engineers, ensuring high-quality inspections and data accuracy.
Oversee the cataloging of utility assets and identification of equipment issues or hazards.
Ensure the quality control of work packages and compliance with project standards.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to junior engineers.
Collaborate with utility companies to ensure project goals and deliverables are met.
Work closely with internal teams to align data accuracy with industry standards.
Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.
Participate in training programs to enhance technical knowledge and skill development.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in the electric utility field (preferred).
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills (must-have).
Excellent communication and organizational abilities (must-have).
Proficient computer skills with good written and oral communication abilities (must-have).
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), national engineering standards, utility construction standards, and best industry engineering practices (nice-to-have).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Ability to work remotely and coordinate effectively with a distributed workforce.
Enthusiasm for learning and applying new technologies within the utility sector.
Day-to-Day Tools/Technical Environment:
GIS software for utility asset mapping and analysis.
Data management tools for cataloging and reporting.
Communication platforms for collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders.
Industry-standard reference materials, including NESC and engineering guidelines.
