Job Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for leading the financial strategy, planning, and management of [Company Name], a publishing company. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to drive revenue growth and profitability.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to ensure financial sustainability.
- Manage financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
- Lead financial reporting processes, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee cost management, pricing strategies, and profitability analysis of various publishing projects.
- Provide strategic guidance on investments, acquisitions, and expansion opportunities.
- Supervise accounting, tax, treasury, and audit functions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with investors, banks, and financial institutions.
- Implement financial systems, tools, and processes for operational efficiency.
- Work closely with editorial, marketing, and sales teams to align financial strategies with business objectives.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and make data-driven decisions.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in finance leadership roles, preferably in the publishing, media, or entertainment industry.
- Strong understanding of publishing industry revenue models, including print, digital, and subscription-based businesses.
- Expertise in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, tax compliance, and risk management.
- Proven track record of driving financial growth and operational efficiency.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with financial software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of digital publishing trends and emerging revenue streams.
- Experience in mergers, acquisitions, and fundraising.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
