Job Summary
Job responsibilities of Treatment buddy
1) He/she has to work in close coordination with Peer Counsellor under the guidance of Medical Officer of TAAL + IHC.
2) Be a peer educator for PLHIV at LAC TAAL + IHC and provide psycho-social support to newly registered PLHIV. Further, provide assistance to PLHIV enrolled at the TAAL + IHC.
3) Keep track of drug adherence of patients on ARV, counselling them on the importance of regularity of visits and ARV dosage.
4) Supplement the efforts of the peer counsellor of the centre in promoting positive living.
5) Assist in patient retrieval, where necessary and as far as possible through coordination with other staff of TAAL + IHC.
6) Follow MIS/LFU cases on telephone, from daily due list as well. Ensure home visits, if necessary.
7) Home visits for ARV drug delivery as directed by Medical Officer and also maintain necessary records for the same.
8) Transfer of kits / other consumables / blood sample to nearby CD4 Labs in absence of LT, if necessary.
9) Ensure pick-up and transfer of drugs to TAAL + IHC LAC and Nodal ART centre/
10) To ensure proper linkage through coordination with the linked Community Care Centre & Nodal ART Centre.
11) Accompanied referral to minimise LFU for clients referred to lab investigations or other institutions (if required) by Medical Officer.
12) Any other duty assigned by Medical Officer & Peer Counsellor of TAAL + IHC.
Qualification:
1. Treatment Buddy should be a PLHIV, with a minimum of secondary education level.
2. S/he must also have basic working knowledge of English and the local language
