Xpetize - PCB Design Engineer - Cadence Allegro (4-7 yrs)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced PCB Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Chennai.

The ideal candidate will possess 4-7 years of hands-on experience in designing complex, high-speed, multilayer PCBs using Cadence Allegro and Mentor Graphics Expedition.

This role demands a strong understanding of signal and power integrity, DFM/DFT principles, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality PCB designs for electronic applications.

You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, contribute to design reviews, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Roles and Responsibilities :

PCB Design and Layout :

- Develop and implement complex, high-speed, multilayer PCB layouts using Cadence Allegro and Mentor Graphics Expedition.

- Create and maintain comprehensive PCB libraries and component databases.

- Optimize PCB layouts for signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal performance.

- Manage and resolve design rule checks (DRC) and electrical rule checks (ERC).

Design Analysis and Validation :

- Perform signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis using simulation tools.

- Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) analysis to ensure efficient production and testing.

- Validate PCB designs through simulation and physical testing.

Collaboration and Documentation :

- Collaborate with hardware engineers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to define PCB design requirements.

- Participate in design reviews and provide technical feedback.

- Generate and maintain detailed documentation, including schematics, layout files, fabrication drawings, and assembly instructions.

-Maintain clear and consistent communication with team members and project managers.

Standards and Compliance :

- Ensure compliance with industry standards, including IPC standards and relevant regulatory requirements.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest PCB design trends and technologies.

- Troubleshoot any PCB related manufacturing problems.

Skills and Qualifications :

Technical Skills :

- Proficient in Cadence Allegro and Mentor Graphics Expedition.

- Strong understanding of high-speed PCB design principles, including impedance control, crosstalk reduction, and power distribution.

- Experience with signal integrity and power integrity analysis tools (e.g, HyperLynx, Sigrity).

- Knowledge of DFM and DFT principles and practices.

- Familiarity with various PCB fabrication and assembly processes.

- Experience with HDI PCBs is a plus.
