Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare accurate financial reports, balance sheets, and income statements in a timely manner.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor and track key financial metrics to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage annual budgets.
  • Assist in preparing forecasts and projections for future financial performance.
  • Monitor budget variances and suggest corrective actions when necessary.
  • Cash Flow Management:
  • Monitor and manage companys cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
  • Prepare cash flow statements and identify areas of concern or opportunities for improvement.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable Management:
  • Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all transactions and resolve discrepancies when they arise.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate policies.
  • Coordinate with auditors for annual audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Identify financial risks and work to implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • Financial Planning and Strategy:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial strategies to support business growth and profitability.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify areas of cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Tax Planning and Management:
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and timely filing of tax returns.
  • Advise on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Internal Controls and Systems:
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and internal controls.
  • Review financial processes and recommend improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Reporting to Management:
  • Provide detailed and accurate financial reports to senior management.
  • Offer insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes, focusing on improving financial performance.
  • Ad-hoc Financial Tasks:
  • Support special projects related to finance, including mergers, acquisitions, and new business ventures.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial presentations and reports for board meetings and external investors.

Preferred candidate profile

  1. Educational Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
    • Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) are highly preferred.
    • Postgraduate degree (MBA or Masters in Finance) is an advantage.
  2. Experience:
    • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in financial management, accounting, or related roles.
    • Experience in preparing financial statements, budgeting, and financial reporting is essential.
    • Exposure to financial systems, accounting software, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) is preferred.
  3. Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
    • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
    • Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying financial issues and recommending solutions.
    • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Team Player: Collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  4. Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Experience with financial software and ERP systems.
