Job Overview :
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow CMDB Developer to join our dynamic ITSM team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the CMDB (Configuration Management Database) within the ServiceNow platform. This role requires extensive knowledge in ServiceNow, particularly in CMDB, and will work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that the CMDB is accurate, comprehensive, and aligns with IT service management practices. This role will be in US Shift to collaborate with global teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, configure, and manage CMDB, ensuring it meets the business needs for tracking and managing IT assets, services, and configurations.
- Implement and maintain integrations between CMDB and other ServiceNow modules (Incident, Change, Problem, Service Catalog, etc.).
- Configure and maintain Discovery schedules, probes, and sensors to automate the population of the CMDB with accurate data.
- Develop and maintain Data Sources, transform maps, and business rules in ServiceNow CMDB.
- Ensure CMDB data quality through the implementation of best practices, automated validation, and governance processes.
- Provide data cleansing and remediation solutions for CMDB data issues and discrepancies.
- Develop ServiceNow workflows, business rules, and custom scripts to automate the population and updating of CMDB records.
- Implement and maintain integrations with external systems to sync data into the CMDB.
- Create and manage reports, dashboards, and visualizations to track and present CMDB data metrics.
- Provide insights into data trends, health, and service performance.
- Work closely with ServiceNow administrators, developers, and ITSM teams to ensure seamless operations and enhancements.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for CMDB issues.
- Perform regular audits and assessments of CMDB data to ensure compliance with ITIL best practices.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, features, and best practices within ServiceNow and CMDB management.
- Drive improvements in CMDB processes, integrations, and overall configuration management capabilities.
Required Skills and Experience :
- 7-10 years of experience in ServiceNow development, with at least 5 years focused on CMDB and ITSM modules.
- Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB, including configuration, development, and management.
- Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Event Management, and Service Mapping.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow Scripting (Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, etc.).
- Experience with ServiceNow Data Management: Data Sources, Transform Maps, and Import Sets.
- Understanding of ITIL processes and how they relate to CMDB (Configuration Management, Change Management, Incident Management, etc.).
- Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
- Experience with integration tools and techniques, particularly for importing data from external systems to ServiceNow.
- Ability to develop custom reports and dashboards within ServiceNow.
Desirable Skills :
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - CMDB (or equivalent certifications).
- Knowledge of other ITSM modules and integration with CMDB.
- Experience working in Agile development methodologies.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple time zones.
Working Hours :
- This position requires working in US shift hours (typically from 6:30 PM to 3:30 AM IST).
