Job Description

- Develop detailed piping designs, including layout drawings, isometrics, and material take-offs, based on project requirements, P&IDs, and engineering calculations.
- Collaborate with process engineers, piping stress engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient and safe design of piping systems.
- Incorporate design considerations such as pressure, temperature, fluid properties, and stress analysis results into piping layouts.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI) in all piping design activities.
- Review and interpret P&IDs, equipment specifications, and vendor drawings to integrate piping systems with overall plant designs.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and interdisciplinary meetings to optimize piping layouts and resolve design issues.
- Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to support the procurement of piping materials and the installation of piping systems.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, PDMS, or Plant 3D,SP3D to create and modify piping drawings and models.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior designers and drafters as needed.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in piping design to enhance project execution and efficiency.
