• A background as a software engineer, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an equivalent role
• Experience with developing PC software for production environments
• Experience with systems that have an interface between PC software and PLC controlled systems
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary project team
• Preferably experience with programming of order control systems and material handling systems
• Preferably experience with GUI programming
• A passion for software automation and controls
• Able to (re)use open-source technologies and tools

Roles and Responsibilities

You will join our PC team. Together with your colleagues, you will develop the software that enables the complete automation of our client’s logistics. In this role, you will not miss any of this process. You will be involved from the design to the commissioning at the customer. You will actively participate in internal project meetings with team members from other disciplines. You will monitor your own time planning within the project.

As an OCS Engineer you have a fairly broad and challenging range of duties:

Translating the system/customer requirements into software requirements and design

• For greenfield projects
• For modifications and optimizations of existing systems

• Breaking down design in (standard) functional modules and related interfaces
• Work with simulation software
• Estimate and plan own workload and monitor progress
• Take care of the review of break down, functional design and interfaces Programming of the software development according to agreed specifications with the team
• Create a software test plan, execution of software simulations and tests Create software documentation (wiki) and user manual for the developed software
• Recognizing/resolve bottlenecks and emerging problems in time and able to address them within the team
• Streamline planning and activities with other disciplines (e.g. PLC, Mechanical, etc)
• Contributing to the software roadmap using your software expertise
