Solution Engineer ( Server Automation )- Contract - Remote

Job Summary:

• We are seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our dynamic team, responsible for server provisioning and non-middleware configurations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in server management, infrastructure deployment, and system configuration.
• This role requires hands-on expertise in server setup, automation, performance optimization, and ensuring that systems are configured to meet business requirements and operational standards.
• You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provision servers, configure system settings, and implement best practices for scaling and supporting enterprise-level infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provision and configure physical and virtual servers based on project and business requirements.
• Work with cloud and on-premises infrastructure platforms to deploy servers (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware, etc.).
• Automate server provisioning processes through tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar infrastructure-as-code technologies.
• Ensure server environments are secure, properly sized, and meet performance needs.
• Implement and manage system configurations outside of middleware services (e.g.,network settings, operating system configurations, security hardening).
• Configure storage systems, networking components, and system services to optimize server performance and reliability.
• Manage server updates, patches, and maintenance tasks to ensure system stability and security.
• Work with DevOps and network teams to ensure server configurations align withbroader IT infrastructure and security policies.
• Monitor server performance and availability, using industry-standard monitoring tools.
• Implement performance tuning and capacity planning to ensure optimal server utilization and efficient resource management.
• Assist with scalability and redundancy planning to support business growth and high availability.
• Ensure server configurations are aligned with organizational security policies, regulatory compliance standards, and best practices.
• Perform regular audits of server environments to ensure compliance with internal and external security standards.
• Proactively identify and address potential vulnerabilities within the server configuration.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with server provisioning, configuration, and deployment in both cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premise environments.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
• Experience with configuration management, monitoring, and performance tuning for servers.
• Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Linux, Windows Server, etc.) and their configuration.
• Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
• Experience with storage solutions (SAN, NAS, etc.) and backup technologies.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues efficiently and effectively.
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex infrastructure problems and identify the root cause.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Nagios, or Splunk.
• Knowledge of security best practices and hardening techniques for server environments.

Education:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
