PowerBI Developer - Contract - Remote

Job Title: PowerBI Report Developer (or Engineer)
Job Description: We are seeking a PowerBI Developer to join our team starting in mid-March or April. The ideal candidate will have >5 years experience working in PowerBI. Candidate should have experience migrating from other BI tools such as Oracle Analytics Services, Qlik, or Microstrategy. As a PowerBI Report Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive and insightful reports and dashboards using PowerBI.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain PowerBI reports and dashboards to support business decision-making.
• Migrate existing reports and dashboards from other BI tools to PowerBI.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective data visualizations.
• Optimize PowerBI reports for performance and usability.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reports and dashboards.
• Provide training and support to end-users on PowerBI functionalities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Knowledge of Data Warehousing, SQL and relational databases.
• Proven experience as a PowerBI Report Developer.
• Experience with migrations to PowerBI from other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView, etc.).
• Strong proficiency in PowerBI, including DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), Power Query and Row Level Security (RLS).
• Excellent data visualization, UI and storytelling skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication, collaboration skills & Stakeholder management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SQL and data modeling. Strong SQL skills will be preferred.
• Knowledge of Data Vault, data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with other BI tools like OAS, OBIEE, SSRS, Tableau. QlikView etc..

Understanding of data governance and data security best practices.
