Job Overview:


We are looking for a skilled and strategic-minded General Manager Production-Operations to oversee the manufacturing and export operations of our woven apparel division. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of production, from planning and scheduling to quality control and shipment coordination. The General Manager will play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, ensuring product quality, and meeting customer delivery requirements while maintaining a strong focus on cost optimization and profitability.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage all aspects of production operations for the woven apparel export division, including production planning, scheduling, quality control, and shipment coordination.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to optimize production efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance overall operational performance.
  • Oversee the implementation of best practices in manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality standards and compliance with customer requirements and industry regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with the design and product development teams to translate customer requirements into production specifications and ensure timely delivery of finished goods.
  • Conduct Pre-production meetings with merchandising team, Buyer representative, and QA department to take over the job as per the style.
  • Lead and mentor a team of production managers, supervisors, and line workers to foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Establish and maintain rigorous quality control standards throughout the manufacturing process to deliver products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Implement quality management systems and continuous improvement initiatives to drive excellence in product quality and consistency.
  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, and ensure that staff members are properly trained and equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely procurement of raw materials and components, negotiating favorable terms and pricing agreements as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining a safe and conducive working environment for all employees.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on production performance, key initiatives, and strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Master's / Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in production operations management, preferably in the woven apparel manufacturing and export industry.
  • Strong understanding of garment manufacturing processes, including cutting, sewing, finishing, and quality control.
  • Proven track record of success in driving operational excellence, improving productivity, and achieving cost savings in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in production planning and scheduling software, ERP systems, and other manufacturing applications.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations and export procedures is highly desirable.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
