Role & responsibilities

  • Course Delivery: Prepare and deliver lessons on various nursing subjects, including theory and practical aspects.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the design, planning, and updating of the nursing curriculum to meet current healthcare standards.
  • Lectures and Tutorials: Conduct lectures, discussions, seminars, and tutorials on relevant topics such as medical-surgical nursing, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and nursing ethics.
  • Examinations: Design, administer, and grade exams, assignments, and quizzes to assess students' theoretical and practical knowledge.
  • Feedback and Grading: Provide constructive feedback on assignments, projects, and practical skills to help students improve.
  • Clinical Evaluation: Assess students during clinical placements, ensuring they meet the standards required in real-world healthcare settings.
  • Hands-on Training: Supervise students during clinical rotations in hospitals or healthcare facilities, offering guidance on patient care, documentation, and clinical procedures.
  • Skill Development: Ensure that students gain practical experience in administering care, using medical equipment, and responding to patient needs.
  • Role Modeling: Demonstrate professional nursing practices and behaviors, reinforcing ethical, legal, and professional standards.
  • Academic Guidance: Advise students on their academic progress, assist with study techniques, and offer guidance on research projects or papers.
  • Personal Counseling: Provide support to students dealing with stress, mental health challenges, or personal issues affecting their academic performance.
  • Career Counseling: Guide students in their career choices, provide insights on nursing specialties, and assist in preparing for licensing exams.
  • Research Participation: Engage in research activities within the nursing field, contributing to knowledge development and evidence-based practice.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on advancements in nursing science, healthcare trends, and educational practices by attending workshops, conferences, or further training.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of students' academic progress, clinical evaluations, and attendance.
  • Report Writing: Prepare reports on student performance, clinical experiences, and course evaluations.
  • Collaboration: Work with other faculty members to ensure effective teaching methods and curriculum implementation.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a respectful, inclusive, and engaging learning environment, encouraging student participation and critical thinking.
  • Cultural Competence: Promote understanding and respect for diverse patient populations and healthcare settings.
  • Fostering Professionalism: Instill professional values such as responsibility, accountability, and integrity in students.
  • Clinical Partnerships: Work with hospitals or other healthcare settings to organize clinical placements for students, ensuring they receive exposure to diverse patient care scenarios.
  • Feedback Loop: Liaise with healthcare facilities to gain feedback on students' performance during clinical rotations.

Preferred candidate profile


  • Candidate must be qualified Bachelors/Masters in Nursing
  • The candidate should hold a current and active nursing license of West Bengal
  • Experience in assessing student progress, giving constructive feedback, and designing exams or practical evaluations that measure students' learning outcomes.
  • A deep knowledge of nursing practice and clinical skills is essential to guide students through practical applications of theory.
  • The candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with students, faculty, and healthcare professionals.
  • High standard of professionalism, ethics, and integrity, both in clinical practice and in interactions with students, is essential.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, attending conferences, workshops, and seminars, and staying current with the latest developments in nursing education and practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members, administrators, and clinical staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning experience.
