Biomedical Engineer - Inventory (CapEx)

Role & responsibilities

• Work with hospital leadership and department heads to develop the annual capital budget for biomedical equipment and technology.
• Ensure that the capital expenditures align with the hospitals strategic goals, patient care needs, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and track CapEx spending to ensure projects are completed within budget.
• Research, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors for medical equipment and technology.
• Negotiate pricing, warranties, and terms with vendors and manufacturers.
• Oversee the purchasing process, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and standards.
• Manage contracts for equipment maintenance, service agreements, and warranties.
• Prepare detailed reports on Capex investments, equipment performance, and ongoing maintenance activities for hospital leadership.
• Stay updated on the latest technological advancements in medical equipment and healthcare technology.
• Assess the feasibility and potential benefits of new technologies to improve patient care, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of medical equipment, technology, and regulatory standards.
• 5-6 years experience with Capex budgeting, procurement, and asset management.
• Familiarity with hospital operations, clinical workflows, and healthcare IT systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and budget constraints are met.
