Job Summary:

The Inventory Manager for Salon & Spa will oversee the efficient management of inventory systems, including ordering, tracking, and maintaining the stock of salon and spa products, equipment, and supplies. This role requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of the operational needs of a busy salon and spa.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Control:
Maintain optimal inventory levels for all salon and spa products including shampoos, conditioners, skincare products, oils, towels, and equipment.
Monitor stock levels and conduct regular inventory counts.
Ensure proper storage and organization of all products to prevent loss or damage.
Set up reordering schedules for products based on consumption rates and trends.
Forecast future inventory needs based on service offerings and seasonal demand.
Product Procurement and Supplier Management:
Source new suppliers for products and equipment and negotiate pricing and terms.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and quality standards.
Place orders for products and supplies in a timely manner to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Handle product returns and exchanges with suppliers.
Inventory Reporting and Documentation:
Keep accurate and detailed records of inventory transactions.
Generate reports on stock levels, product usage, and reorder trends for management.
Track the cost of goods sold (COGS) and assist with budget planning.
Monitor expiration dates and ensure timely usage of perishable products.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
Work closely with management to maintain inventory costs within budget.
Identify areas to reduce waste and increase the efficiency of inventory usage.
Implement systems to track and reduce product losses (theft, damage, or spoilage).
Coordination with Staff:
Communicate with salon and spa staff about product availability and usage.
Ensure staff are well-trained in using inventory systems and handling products responsibly.
Assist in organizing product displays and promotional items within the salon/spa.
Quality Control and Compliance:
Ensure products meet quality standards and are stored in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Implement quality control checks for products and equipment to ensure they meet the required standards for client use.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Business Administration or related field is a plus.
Proven experience in inventory management, ideally in a retail, salon, or spa setting.
Familiarity with salon and spa products, tools, and equipment is an advantage.
Skills:
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency in inventory management software and basic office software (Excel, Word).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Knowledge of budget management and cost control.
Personal Traits:
Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to quality.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating inventory needs.
Ability to lift and move inventory items as necessary (some items may be heavy or large).
Weekend or evening hours may be required depending on the salon/spa schedule.
