- Digital Evidence Collection : Acquire, preserve, and document digital evidence from compromised systems following legal and regulatory protocols.
- Incident Analysis : Investigate cybersecurity incidents such as malware attacks, insider threats, or unauthorized access to determine root causes.
- Forensic Tools Usage : Utilize advanced forensic tools (e. g. , EnCase, FTK, Autopsy, Volatility) to analyze data and extract actionable insights.
- Reporting : Prepare comprehensive forensic reports detailing findings, evidence, and recommendations for mitigation and prevention.
- Collaboration : Work closely with incident response teams, legal departments, and law enforcement when required.
- Threat Analysis : Identify patterns and trends in security incidents to provide proactive recommendations.
- Policy Adherence : Ensure all forensic activities comply with legal and organizational standards.
- Training : Educate teams on digital forensics best practices and help strengthen the overall security posture.
- Forensic Tools : Hands-on experience with tools like EnCase, FTK, Autopsy, Volatility, and X-Ways.
- Malware Analysis : Familiarity with reverse engineering malware to understand its functionality and impact.
- Data Recovery : Expertise in recovering and analyzing deleted or corrupted data from various systems.
- Operating Systems : Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and macOS internals for forensic analysis.
- Legal Compliance : Understanding of laws and regulations related to digital evidence and cybersecurity (e. g. , GDPR, HIPAA).
- Scripting Skills : Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Bash) to automate forensic tasks.
- Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) , Certified Computer Examiner (CCE) , or EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE) .
- Freshers with a strong foundation in digital forensics principles and certifications are encouraged to apply.
- 1-3 years of experience in digital forensics, incident response, or related roles is an advantage.
