Job Description
The Security Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the organization's adherence to internal and external security policies, standards, and regulations. This role requires implementing, monitoring, and managing security protocols to safeguard sensitive data and maintain operational integrity. The Security Compliance Officer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks, address vulnerabilities, and foster a culture of security awareness across the organization.
- Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain security compliance policies, procedures, and controls in alignment with regulatory standards.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e. g. , GDPR, ISO 27001, HIPAA).
- Incident Management: Manage security incidents, including investigation, reporting, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Awareness Training: Design and deliver security training programs for employees to promote adherence to security policies.
- Regulatory Reporting: Ensure timely preparation and submission of compliance reports to regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT, legal, and other departments to ensure security measures are integrated into business operations.
- Third-Party Management: Assess security compliance of vendors and third parties, ensuring their adherence to the organization's security standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with evolving security standards and best practices, and recommend enhancements to the security framework.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in security compliance, risk management, or related fields for entry-level roles.
- 5-7 years for mid-level positions and above.
