- We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with 5 years of expertise in both UK and US accounting standards.
- This is a permanent, full-time remote position that offers the flexibility of working from home.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and have a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices applicable in both the UK and US.
- As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations, ensuring compliance, and managing accounting processes for multiple clients across different regions.
- Your role will be pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting, tax preparation, and business performance analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage financial statements, balance sheets, profit & loss reports, and other financial documents in compliance with UK and US accounting standards.
- Oversee the accounting cycle from accounts payable/receivable to month-end/year-end close.
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Perform bank reconciliation and resolve any discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with VAT (for UK clients) and other tax requirements in both the UK and US.
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax filings for clients, liaising with external tax advisors if necessary.
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to management, helping clients make informed decisions.
- Prepare and submit tax returns, including VAT returns (UK) and IRS filings (US).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using accounting software such as QuickBooks and Xero.
- Support and train junior accounting staff, offering guidance and mentorship.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial operations and processes
Requirements:
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in both UK and US accounting practices.
- Extensive experience using accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, and other relevant accounting tools.
- In-depth understanding of UK GAAP, US GAAP, and tax compliance for both regions.
- Strong knowledge of VAT and other tax regulations in the UK and US.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote work environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
