Welding Engineer

Role & responsibilities

1. Check setting of machine every shift.

2. Set SAW welding parameter as per PWPS/WPS.

3. Achieve production target as per production plan.

4. Monitor productivity of welding stations and take corrective action as required.

5. Create material reservation based on shop floor requirement.

6. Ensure availability of welding consumables, nozzles, head and other production related items.

7. Check quality from pre-visual and NDT and if required take corrective action.

8. Prepare WPS, PQR for projects bases and get approval from client/TPIA.

9. Check use of qualified welder and qualify welder as per requirement.

10. Monitor rejection and rework due to welding analyze and take corrective action.

11. Take SMAW repair approval from TPIA/Client/QC. And after completion of repair approval distributes the repair approval format to concern department.

12. Ensure SMAW repair is carried out as per PWPS/WPS.

13. Maintaining repair approval format/electrode re-drying, baking of flux records.

14. Provide guidance to subordinate/workman to improve productivity and quality.

15. Inform maintenance in case of abnormal operation of machine.

16. Co-ordination between maintenance, QA&C, forming and finishing department.

17. Identify unsafe condition and take corrective action.

18. Check for safety compliance by work man & housekeeping at all times.

Authority:

1. Overall authorities for the execution of responsibility and stoppage of any work, which in

his opinion does not meet the operation requirement.

Accountability:

1. Smooth functioning for overall welding section activity.

2. Achieve shift wise production target with quality.

3. Reduce welding defects as per quality objective targets.
