Engineer Shop QC

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Sound knowledge of fabrication codes like IS 2062, AWS D1.1, ASME Sec-I / II/ V, VIII, IX IBR Code, API 530/560, ASME B31.1/31.3, EN 12952 & related harmonized standards.
• Quality management system and proficiency in welding processes like SMAW, GTAW, SAW, GMAW, FCAW.
• Certification as welding Inspector i.e., CWI or CSWIP will be an added advantage.
• Coating Certification like NACE Coating Inspector/BGAS Leve-I/II will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Post Bend Heat Treatment & Post Weld Heat Treatment, hydraulic testing as per ASME, IBR & EN Codes & Standards,
• Co-ordination & working with various third-party inspection agencies, Preparation of inspection & test report & reporting Management information System.
• Knowledge of tube/pipe bending & its acceptance criteria for cold as well as hot bending, knowledge of shell rolling & capsule fabrication along with its acceptance criteria in case of drums and tanks manufacturing.
• Knowledge of WPS, PQR, WPQ, preparation of weld maps.
• NDT Certification will be an added advantage like ISNT / ASNT level II in RT, PT, MT, VT and UT.
• Knowledge of packing inspection for domestic as well as for export projects.
• Shall be strongly conversant in fabrication processes and distortion control & correction practices and process improvement &developmental work.

Critical Competencies:

• Proactive approach in ITP/Drawing/Customer specification study before start of the job.
• Independent working & decision making based on applicable codes of construction, customer specifications, contractual requirements & knowledge.
• Shall have good English communication skills both written & verbal.
• Shall be able to work under pressure with multiple assignments.
• Shall be a good team player as he has to interact with other functions – Materials, Engineering, projects and sub-vendors & their representatives.
