The project is driven by a research for impact philosophy, engaging with local communities and government stakeholders to develop and implement solutions for sustainable water management in rural and urban districts in Karnataka. The work offers opportunities to bridge the science-policy space, and to collaborate with international researchers working on climate change adaptation with a focus on water use.
Responsibilities
Data Collection: Conduct interviews, surveys, and focus group discussions, facilitate audiovisual data recording (including videos), using appropriate and ethical sampling strategies and checks.
Data Management and Analysis: Validate data for accuracy and completeness, transcribe across data formats, and analyses data to produce insights.
Report Writing: Contribute to reports and academic outputs using data insights.
Requirements
Masters in social sciences such as development, economics, environmental, rural and urban studies, social work, and sociology.
Full proficiency in Kannada and Telugu.
Familiarity with the study area (Chintamani town and Chikkaballapur district).
Experience with qualitative data collection in rural areas is desirable.
Working knowledge of qualitative data analysis tools like NVivo and Atlas.ti is desirable.
Candidates based in Chintamani or Chikkaballapur will be preferred.
