Job Description

1. Supervision and Team Management:

  • Manage Housekeeping Team: Supervise cleaning staff responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the showroom, office floors, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Training and Development: Provide training to housekeeping staff on cleaning techniques, use of equipment, handling of cleaning products, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Shift Scheduling: Create and manage housekeeping schedules to ensure adequate staffing during business hours and special events.

2. Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Ensure Cleanliness: Oversee the cleaning of showrooms, office spaces, corridors, staircases, restrooms, break rooms, and other facilities to ensure a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Routine Inspections: Regularly inspect the premises to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and tidiness are consistently maintained.
  • Special Areas: Pay attention to high-traffic areas, such as the showroom floor, meeting rooms, and executive offices, to ensure they are always presentable.
  • Floor Care: Oversee floor cleaning and maintenance, including carpets, tiles, and wooden floors. Ensure any spills or dirt are quickly handled.

3. Guest and Employee Experience:

  • Maintain a Professional Image: Ensure the environment is clean and welcoming for clients, customers, employees, and visitors, as this directly impacts the professional image of the brand or company.
  • Address Issues Promptly: Respond quickly to any issues related to cleanliness or housekeeping complaints from staff or visitors, ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Support Corporate Events and Showroom Functions: For retail showrooms, ensure cleanliness before, during, and after events, product launches, or sales promotions.

4. Inventory Management:

  • Stock Monitoring: Oversee the inventory of cleaning supplies, restroom supplies (e.g., soap, paper towels), and other essentials to ensure there are no shortages.
  • Reordering Supplies: Manage stock levels, order cleaning products, toiletries, and other materials as necessary while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure cleaning tools and equipment (vacuums, mops, etc.) are in good working condition. Schedule routine maintenance or repair when needed.

5. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

  • Safety Standards: Ensure compliance with workplace safety protocols, particularly when handling cleaning chemicals or operating equipment.
  • Environmental Sustainability: Implement environmentally friendly cleaning practices and products, where possible, to align with corporate sustainability goals.
  • Compliance with Regulations: Ensure that cleaning operations follow local health, safety, and sanitation regulations for corporate offices and retail environments.

6. Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning Schedules: Develop and maintain a cleaning schedule for all areas of the showroom or office, ensuring that key areas (like restrooms or meeting rooms) are cleaned and maintained regularly.
  • Reports: Provide weekly or monthly reports to management detailing cleaning tasks, inventory usage, staff performance, and any issues requiring attention.
  • Budget Management: Assist in managing the housekeeping budget, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing of cleaning supplies and equipment.

7. Waste Management:

  • Efficient Waste Disposal: Supervise waste management practices, ensuring proper segregation of recyclables, general waste, and hazardous materials (e.g., cleaning chemicals or broken items).
  • Disposal of Showroom Waste: Ensure that promotional materials, product packaging, and other debris are regularly cleared, especially in high-traffic retail areas.

8. Preventive and Routine Maintenance:

  • Monitor Wear and Tear: Ensure that any areas in need of repair (e.g., worn-out carpets, chipped furniture) are identified and reported to the relevant department for timely attention.
  • Deep Cleaning: Coordinate periodic deep cleaning of carpets, windows, and upholstery, especially in retail showrooms or corporate office areas where appearances are crucial.
  • Organize Storage: Oversee the organization and cleanliness of storage areas (e.g., housekeeping closets, supply rooms, and equipment storage).
