Position Title: Head - (COAL AND SCRAP IMPORT)

Job Location: Hebbal, Bangalore

Qualification and Experience: B.E/B.Tech (Mechanical) with 10+ Yrs experience in Global Sourcing Experience in Import of Coal and Scrap (International Iron and Steel Raw material Sourcing) Industrial Procurement for Green Field and Brown Field Projects in Steel industry.

Travel: 25% travel Pan India basis need

Job Summary:

Monitor the markets on International basis on all the raw materials that go in to our industry. Build Vendor profile and Directory

Get commercials from all the vendors. Negotiation. Should know how to apply for Banking facility, Maintain Quality, Transportation and Liaising, Department Licensing

Role:

To plan, conceptualize and execute entire spectrum of business development activities with focus on handling of coal, coke, Petcoke, Gypsum, Manganese ore, Iron ore, scrap, steel etc.

Responsibility to devise sourcing strategies to procure and maintain uninterrupted supply of imported Coal and Domestic Coal and Scrap.

Keep track of industry practices and external business environment affecting the supplies and rates of coal and perform risk management of supply contracts and allied agreements.

Foresee unfavorable events through analysis of data and accordingly plan and adjust coal shipments

Finalization of vessel laycans and acceptance of vessel nominated by supplier/vessel owners as per shipment plan, appointment of Independent Inspection Agencies for determination of quality and quantity at load/discharge port, arrangement of insurance, customs clearance, duty payment and handling of coal.

Preparation of purchase orders, work order, service contracts in relation to sourcing, vessel chartering, survey, transport and handling of coal

Responsibility of commodity sales with emphasis on Coal, Coke, Gypsum and Manganese Ore, Overseeing logistics needs of the organization at all Coast Ports.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement of imported and domestic coal for the power plant.

Trading of imported raw materials especially coal, coke, petcoke, gypsum and manganese ore.

Forming alliance with ports/terminals, vessel owners and suppliers for bidding of supplies of coal and other minerals on rail-sea-rail or sea-rail/road model.

Operations at ports and terminals. Negotiation, finalization and preparation of business plans of short term and long term use of port and its facilities.

Developing new business plans, managing budgets & variance.

Liaising with government bodies Customs, Railways, Major ports, Concor etc.

Setting up of coastal container and bulk trade.

Extensive knowledge of charterparties, laytime calculations, vessel & port operations and handling of claims

Development of strategies for achieving dominant market position. Increased profitability for the organization by increasing revenues and controlling costs.
