Title: CAD Engineer

Overview of Position

The CAD Engineer is responsible for reviewing Closet Pro designs and drawings and preparing them for production. This position is responsible for converting Closet Pro designs to Cabinet Vision software, redrawing items that dont automatically convert, reviewing Cabinet Vision drawings for accuracy and compliance with standards, identifying design or construction deficiencies, and finalizing designs for production. This position works closely with the Central Design team and CAD Engineering. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.

Responsibilities

What Will You Be Doing?

• Uses CAD software to prepare, review, and revise drawings for production.
• Generates submittals including drawings, bill of material, calculations, technical manuals, and record drawings.
• Works on multiple projects with varying deadlines.
• Collaborates with design team to answer questions regarding design structure, identify problematic areas in designs and offer alternative options.
• Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
• Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule
• Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
• Performs other requested tasks and duties

Qualifications

What You Bring To Us

• High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred
• 2+ years experience in custom closet industry or wood manufacturing preferred
• 2+ years experience drawing in CAD, Cabinet Vision and/or Closet Pro experience preferred
• Experience in coding preferred
• Based in Elmhurst, IL
• Ability to read CAD drawings and foresee potential manufacturing/installation issues
• Ability to learn new CAD and database software as needed
• Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and knowledge of Excel
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
• Ability to pass background checks and investigations due to foreign, federal, state and local regulations; based on position responsibility and sensitivity, periodic check and reinvestigations may be performed
• Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
• Knowledge of industry business and passion for following trends in the industry
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
• Ability to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or week
• Flexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge
