Lead Data Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design, architect, administer, and manage large database systems, particularly on Microsoft platforms such as SQL Server and Azure Database.
• Implement new databases, data warehouses, data pipelines, and ETL processes for various systems.
• Develop and maintain data structures to support business needs.
• Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand data requirements and provide solutions.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and performance optimization of database systems.
• Create and maintain documentation for database architecture, data flows, and processes.
• Lead the implementation and development process for PIM (Salsify), Datawarehouse and Integration initiatives.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering.
• Provide strategic planning for the implementation of new systems and enhancements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure data solutions aligning with business objectives and technology roadmap.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on implementing data structures and administering large databases.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Database.
• Strong expertise in database design, architecture, administration, and management.
• Hands-on experience in implementing data warehouses, data pipelines, and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of Salsify or other related PIM (Product Information Management) solutions.
• Background in the retail industry is highly preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in strategic planning and project management.
