SAP Developer - Manufacturing

Main Responsibilities:

• Work on Complex ABAP implementations - programming, testing and debugging functions
• Handling incidents within the team in a DevOps set up
• Understand business function requirements and transform them into technical designs, specifications, and code.
• Develop and implement ABAP enhancements, BADI (Business Add-Ins), custom interfaces, and user exits.
• Design and develop OData services and CDS views for reporting, analytics, and Fiori applications.
• Utilize HANA-specific features, like HANA-optimized Open SQL, for performance improvement and efficient data retrieval.
• Collaborate with functional teams, Business Analysts, technical team members, and other stakeholders for close engagement and communication.
• Align and coordinate delivery with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and Architects to ensure consistency and quality in solutions.
• Design, implement, and optimize solution architectures, with a focus on scalability and performance.
• Ensure ABAP code adheres to best practices, including new ABAP syntax and HANA-specific development techniques.
• Provide technical and functional guidance to junior members, including mentoring on DevOps best practices, ABAP, and HANA optimization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring smooth system performance and operation.
• Optional: Involvement in SAP PI/PO (Process Integration/Process Orchestration) areas, including working with interfaces, proxies, and IDocs.

Do you fit the profile

• Proven experience in SAP ABAP programming, testing, and operational management (Design/Build/Maintain) of IT systems and applications.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in SAP with ABAP as the primary competence area, and a working knowledge of other SAP modules.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts in ABAP, including classes, methods, inheritance, and interfaces.
• Expertise in working with ABAP enhancements, BADIs, custom interfaces, and user exits to enhance standard SAP functionality.
• Solid experience in developing and optimizing CDS views and working with SAP Fiori applications.
• Hands-on experience with SAP HANA, including HANA-optimized Open SQL, Native SQL, and performance tuning techniques.
• Proficiency in using new ABAP syntax (e.g., inline declarations, string templates, and table expressions) to improve code efficiency and readability.
• Experience in at least 2 complete end-to-end implementation projects in SAP ECC & S/4, involving ABAP development.
• Strong understanding of SAP architecture, ABAP development concepts, guidelines, and performance optimization techniques.
• Hands-on experience with SAP interfaces (IDocs, RFC, SOAP, REST) and integration technologies.
• Optional: Exposure to SAP PI/PO integration, including working with Proxy-based communication, IDocs, and other PI-related components.
• Ability to work independently on solutioning and taking ownership of technical decisions.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to write clear and detailed technical specifications.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables/tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
