Chief Engineer (Project Site)

Role & responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of civil engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Lead, supervise, and guide a team of engineers, designers, and other project staff.
• Prepare detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resources, and safety protocols.
• Ensure that all civil engineering work is completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Review and approve design and construction plans, ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress, quality, and adherence to design specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any engineering or project-related issues that arise during the lifecycle of the project.
• Manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for the project.
• Review and approve reports, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Ensure adherence to sustainability practices and eco-friendly construction methods.
• Liaise with project managers and senior management to report on progress and provide solutions to challenges.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in civil engineering, with a strong background in project management and leadership.
• Deep understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and building codes.
• Proficiency in engineering design software (AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, etc.).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively negotiate and collaborate with various stakeholders.
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and environmental standards.
