AE Manager (Application Engineering)

We're hiring for the role of AE Manager (Application Engineering)

Work Mode: Hybrid model 3 day work from office.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee the operational support, maintenance, and development of key web applications and systems, ensuring seamless functionality and high availability.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for support incidents, ensuring no loose ends by thoroughly tracking and resolving issues to closure.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to address and resolve complex application issues, driving root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions.
• Work in tandem with Product Heads to align application support strategies with product roadmaps and business objectives, ensuring priorities are effectively communicated and delivered.
• Lead and mentor a team of application support engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and enforce robust incident management processes to ensure timely and effective resolution of application-related incidents.
• Coordinate with development teams to deploy fixes, implement updates, and deliver application enhancements seamlessly.
• Monitor application performance and proactively recommend optimizations to improve user experience and operational efficiency.
• Participate in application design and deployment reviews to ensure all operational and scalability requirements are met.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including incident logs, troubleshooting guides, application workflows, and standard operating procedures.
• Define and uphold service level agreements (SLAs) to deliver consistent and high-quality support services.
• Track team performance and application health metrics, using insights to drive process improvements and operational excellence.
• Proactively identify gaps in the support process and collaborate with engineering teams to address recurring issues or inefficiencies.
• Ensure consistent communication and coordination across teams, fostering strong collaboration between support, engineering, and product teams.
• Stay informed about emerging web technologies, tools, and best practices to recommend and implement innovative solutions.

Technology Stack and Skills:

• Strong knowledge of web application architectures, including Java-based frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot), REST APIs, and cloud platforms like AWS.
• Hands-on experience with microservices, design patterns, and modern incident management tools (e.g., Jira, Zendesk).
• Exposure to Agile practices, Cloud technologies and DevOps practices.
• Prior experience in the vigilance or security domain is an advantage.

Work Environment and Shift:

• This role operates in a dynamic, high-energy work environment.
• Willingness to work in a flexible shift structure, particularly from 12 PM IST to 9 PM IST
• Willingness to travel frequently to Visakhapatnam on a recurring basis to provide support and facilitate team development as neededProven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder interactions and team coordination.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in application support or a similar role, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
• Experience in leading geographically diverse teams and working with agile methodologies.
