Role & Responsibilities


  • Act as the link between the legal groups and external agencies.
  • Requires regular meetings with each department/center where there is an issue.
  • Works as integral part of legal team in ensuring that issues are kept on track.
  • Be aware of all the actions needed for each of the issues and will be responsible for executing or delegating the same to any agency
  • Prior to departmental meetings he/she will review the plan, gather relevant data, review minutes from previous meetings and be able to report of actions.
  • This is a pro-active role not one where he/she is always in receive mode. As such it will require imaginative suggestions as to how best to achieve the defined objectives.
  • Formal minutes will be required from each meeting, a recap and actions since the last meeting and an agenda for the current one.
  • Take joint responsibility, with each department/center, for managing the work within budgets.
  • An in-depth understanding of each issue will lead to a need to be competent and authoritative in all aspects.
  • Awareness of latest developments in the field of compliances
  • Create and maintain internal case databases, run searches on internal and external document databases and systems, cull relevant information from a variety of resources such as newspapers, magazines, libraries, case documents and trade associations.
  • Prepare witness and matter materials for case preparation.
  • Work with managers, supervisors and employees to prevent and resolve problems and to build constructive relationships in the work environment.
  • Conduct analysis of and recommend solutions to specific problems or cases.
  • In problem situations of broader scope, analyze the underlying forces and practices that cause problems and recommend corrective measures to eliminate the root cause.
  • Interpret regulations, guides and precedents, consider factors that contribute to the effectiveness and productivity of the organization, and work closely with specialists in the various personnel functions within the organization to resolve issues.
  • Use applicable knowledge of procedural aspects and requirements of all related dispute resolution procedures.
  • Provide accurate information to parties in dispute to ensure they are aware of all applicable complaint procedures. Answer questions of substantive nature on mediation.
  • Provide written notification to the parties and conduct timely follow-up to assure commitments resulting from mediations are met. Conduct meetings, briefings and training sessions designated to educate employees on the mediation process and to encourage participation by employees and supervisors
  • Under supervision, gather and prepare documents relevant to the deponent, organize exhibits, take notes and handle exhibits during the deposition and digest transcripts to summarize highlights of a proceeding.
  • Pull relevant documents, proofread papers, organize exhibits and create document indices in the preparation of motion filing and Court filings.
  • Work with attorneys and the Managing Attorney's Office in the preparation and filing of all court documents. Create, bind and distribute both file and courtesy copies. Organize the briefs, exhibits and appendices.
  • Act as liaison among various internal departments as well as with outside agencies.
  • Oversee the progress of documents through litigation support departments, order transcripts from reporting services and fulfill requests from outside counsel and others.

Expected Competencies


  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills necessary for interaction with the Government authorities and negotiating parties.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and experience with, laws dealing with government and/or commercial contract administration, particularly contract negotiation, preparation and administration.
  • Ability to provide independent advice (orally and in writing) to senior level management on highly technical matters.
  • Demonstrate success in managing and conducting a variety of litigation matters.
  • Good planning and organization skills.
  • Proven ability to delicately solve sensitive matters.
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism in all dealings.
  • A self-starter, able to demonstrate high levels of initiative and motivation, but also work closely with other team members and displaying trust and loyalty.
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks in an assertive, efficient and timely manner.
  • Authoritative, persuasive yet tactful must be able to influence.
  • Be both a strategic thinker as well as being a capable implementer.
  • Must be able to multi-task and keep calm under pressure.
