Director General Finance

Job Title: Controller
Department: Finance/Accounting
Reports To: Chief Accounting Officer/Controller and dotted line to Regional CFO

Job Summary:
The Controller is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the companys accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. This role ensures accurate financial recordkeeping, compliance with regulatory requirements. The Controller also manages accounting staff and collaborates with other departments to align financial planning with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP or other relevant standards.
• Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Ensure compliance with local IndAS US GAAP standards for financial reporting and tax requirements.
• Lead and assist with both internal and external audits
• Timely and accurate filing of tax returns
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional growth and ensuring efficient workflows.
• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and identify opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth.
• Coordinate and oversee external audits and other regulatory requirements.
• Develop and align with Vertiv VPP, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and compliance.
• Act as a strategic partner to executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations on financial matters.
• Execute and/or assist in critical business projects as required.

Qualifications:

Education Experience:

• CA
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in manufacturing industry preferred

Skills:

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, internal controls and compliance standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on collaboration and communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Work Environment:

• Full-time position based in Thane.
• May require occasional travel for meetings, audits, or conferences.
