Rigging Artist

Role & responsibilities

• Design and create high-quality rigs for characters, creatures, and props.
• Develop flexible and animation-friendly skeletal structures using IK/FK systems.
• Implement facial rigging setups, blendshapes, and deformers to enhance expressiveness.
• Ensure smooth deformation with proper weight painting and skinning techniques.
• Work closely with animators to refine rigs for optimal motion and usability.
• Collaborate with modeling and texturing teams to maintain topology and deformation accuracy.
• Implement cloth, hair, and muscle simulations where necessary.
• Debug and resolve technical issues related to rigging and deformation.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience working in a game development or animated film production environment.
• Familiarity with procedural rigging and tool development.
• Ability to collaborate with technical animators and pipeline developers.
• Knowledge of character physics and secondary motion.
