The Training Manager - Facilities is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing training programs aimed at enhancing the skills, knowledge, and performance of the facilities management team. The role involves identifying training needs, designing relevant courses, and delivering both in-person and digital training sessions to ensure staff comply with safety regulations, operational standards, and best practices within the facilities management sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Needs Analysis: Assess training needs across the facilities management team by conducting surveys, interviews, and performance reviews to identify knowledge gaps and areas for improvement.
Program Development: Design and develop customized training programs for facilities staff, including maintenance workers, custodial staff, security personnel, and other operational teams. Ensure training materials align with industry standards, compliance requirements, and company goals.
Training Delivery: Facilitate and deliver engaging training sessions using various methods, including workshops, on-the-job training, webinars, and eLearning platforms. Ensure content is relevant and up to date.
Compliance & Safety Training: Ensure training programs cover essential topics such as workplace safety, emergency response procedures, regulatory compliance, sustainability, equipment handling, and environmental health and safety protocols.
Evaluate Effectiveness: Regularly assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, testing, and performance metrics. Adjust training content as needed to ensure continuous improvement and meet team and organizational objectives.
Mentoring & Coaching: Provide on-the-job coaching to new hires and existing team members to ensure skills are applied correctly and performance standards are met.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and assessments. Prepare regular reports for senior management regarding training outcomes, completion rates, and areas for further development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with HR, operations, and other departments to ensure that the training strategy is aligned with broader organizational goals and operational requirements.
Continuous Learning & Development: Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to continually enhance training programs. Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Facilities Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience (3-5 years) in a training role, preferably in facilities management or a similar operational setting.
In-depth knowledge of facilities management practices, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to assess training needs and develop tailored training programs.
Proficient in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other eLearning tools.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Certification in Training & Development or Facilities Management (e.g., IFMA, BIFM, OSHA) is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment:
This position may require occasional travel to various facility locations.
The Training Manager will be based at the corporate office or a designated training facility.
Flexible work hours may be required depending on training schedules.
