Senior Slack Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Slack App Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom Slack applications and integrations to enhance team collaboration and productivity. You will identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and improve communication within Slack. The ideal candidate has a strong background in software development, expertise in Slack's API and development frameworks, and a passion for creating innovative solutions that solve real-world problems.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Design, develop, and deploy custom Slack applications and integrations using the Slack Bolt framework.
• Customize Slack and other collaboration workspaces.
• Map and document technical solutions.
• Collaborate with network engineers, support, and operations to improve the customer experience.
• Integrate software components and third-party programs.
• Work with developers to design algorithms and flowcharts.
• Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
• Gather and evaluate user feedback.
• Recommend and execute improvements.
• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Work with cross-disciplinary teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development with at least 2 years focused on Slack integrations or applications.
• Experience working on real-world software projects.
• Fluency in several technologies relevant to the position.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used for Slack development (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript with Node.js, Python).
• Hands-on experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and working with event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with the Slack Bolt framework.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and methodologies like Agile or Waterfall.
• Ability to create test cases, troubleshoot issues, and employ debugging tools.
• Effective collaboration within teams and communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with common web development tools and services, such as version control software, package managers, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• A solid foundation in core programming concepts, knowledge of at least one major language, and the ability to learn quickly.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Experience with the design and implementation of APIs.
• Understanding of code versioning tools such as SVN, Git, and Mercurial.
