Role Overview Description

Job Description:

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design a high-torque robot using SolidWorks or a similar CAD package. The project involves creating a heavy-duty robot capable of performing complex construction tasks. This is a remote position focused on designing robust and reliable machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design the full robot in SolidWorks (or similar), including all mechanical components and assemblies.
• Ensure proper joint articulation and load-bearing capacity for heavy-duty tasks.
• Create detailed CAD models and assembly drawings for manufacturing.
• Prepare models for simulation and testing, including URDF (Unified Robot Description Format) creation for ROS compatibility.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure functionality and efficiency.

Requirements:

• Experience in designing robotics or heavy machinery using SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Siemens NX.
• Strong understanding of mechanical linkages and actuators.
• Experience in structural analysis and load calculations.
• Proficiency in creating URDF files for robotic simulations.
• Self-motivated and able to work remotely.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with high-torque gearboxes and motors.
• Experience with simulation tools (e.g., Isaac Sim, Gazebo).
• Knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System) for robotic control and simulation.
