Lead scientist/Team Lead synthesis

Purpose of the Role:

Lead a team of organic synthetic chemists to develop process/projects with a very different chemistry background in R & D manner. The team will carry out multiple projects in parallel and scales to aid in the business growth of UPL.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Leading a team of 2-4 people and develop non-infringing processes/products and improve cost effectiveness of existing products by improving yield, modifying processes, and maintaining quality, monitoring, and concluding based on outputs.

2. To provide scientific (80%) and strategic (20%) leadership in operating chemistry related discovery project(s).

3. Coordination of multiple projects in a fast-paced, international environment.

4. Interpreting data and meet strict guidelines.

5. Propose scientifically established solutions to scientific problems while conducting project risk assessment and mitigation.

6. Responsible for optimal utilization of resources in the specific project team through monitoring, measuring, and reporting on scientific issues, opportunities and developmental plans and achievements within agreed formats & timescales.

7. Reporting of scientific results.

8. Evaluation of feasibility and profitability of potential new projects.

9. Implementation and assurance of the company safety rules and SOPs.

10. Work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

11. Communicate on daily basis on the progress of the project.

Qualification:

a) Ph.D. in Chemistry with 8-12 yrs. of experience

b) Setting up reactions, monitoring and conclude based on analysis. Reproducibility and consistency of results.

c) Good record maintenance, safe handling practises of chemicals and chemical wastes.
