Design Engineer - Mechanical

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the development of cutting-edge precision mechanisms for our New Product Development (NPD) projects. You will be responsible for designing and analyzing complex mechanical systems, ensuring high precision, functional reliability, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize, design, and detail precision mechanisms for various NPD projects.
• Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product management, and manufacturing, to ensure successful product development.
• Conduct thorough design analyses, including FEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, and kinematic analysis, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Develop and test prototypes, analyze test data, and iterate on designs based on test results.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and precision technologies.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements (such as FDA and ISO standards) and other compliance testing.
• Maintain comprehensive design documentation, including design history, technical specifications, and risk assessments
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in designing and developing precision mechanisms.
• Strong understanding of fundamental engineering principles, including mechanics, kinematics, dynamics, and materials science.
• Proficiency in CAD and FEA software (SolidWorks & Ansys Preferred).
• Experience with tolerance analysis, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems.
• Design, simulate, and test complex articulation mechanisms within endoscopic and laparoscopic devices to enhance functionality, precision, and usability in surgical applications.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for innovation and a desire to push the boundaries of technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience in designing mechanisms for complex mechanical systems.
• Experience with additive manufacturing, CNC machining, and other precision manufacturing methods.
• Strong knowledge of material science, particularly in relation to biocompatibility and durability in medical environments.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with endoscopy or urology surgery devices.
• Prior experience in a product development team for FDA or CE-compliant devices
