JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Head - Product Design & Development to drive the creation of acoustic pet panels from concept to production. The ideal candidate will have expertise in product aesthetics, functionality, material selection, and manufacturing processes, including molds, prototypes, printing, finishes, and textures. This role requires a deep understanding of design trends, sustainability, and acoustic performance, along with the

ability to collaborate across multiple departments to bring innovative and high-quality products to market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Product Design & Innovation

• Conceptualize and develop aesthetic, functional, and high-performing acoustic pet panel solutions.
• Create 3D models, prototypes, and renderings for design validation and presentation.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, scalability, and efficiency.
• Stay updated on market trends, customer preferences, and new technologies to drive product innovation.

2. Materials & Sustainability Focus

• Research and integrate eco-friendly, pet-safe materials for improved sustainability and durability.
• Explore surface treatments, embossing, textures, and color finishes to enhance product appeal.
• Work with suppliers to enhance material properties, acoustic effectiveness, and product longevity.

3. Customization & Market Alignment

• Develop modular, customizable designs to cater to various project needs.
• Introduce unique patterns, textures, and prints in alignment with interior design and architectural trends.
• Generate digital assets (textures, patterns, and renderings) for marketing and client presentations.

4. Manufacturing & Technical Collaboration

• Partner with production teams to ensure seamless execution of CNC cutting, molding, and finishing.
• Optimize designs for efficient manufacturing, reducing material waste and costs.
• Support the creation of technical documentation, installation guides, and specifications.

5. Testing & Compliance

• Work with acoustic engineers to test and validate sound absorption, NRC values, and fire resistance.
• Ensure compliance with international standards (ASTM, ISO, EN) for acoustic materials.
• Oversee product testing and quality assurance protocols in collaboration with the Quality team.

6. Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Lead and mentor a team of designers, engineers, and product developers to drive innovation.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to translate market insights into product features.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure a smooth transition from design to manufacturing.

REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in 3D design software (Rhino, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Fusion 360).
• Experience with rendering tools (KeyShot, V-Ray, Enscape) for visual presentations.
• Knowledge of CNC cutting, laser etching, embossing, and digital fabrication techniques.
• Familiarity with parametric design tools (Grasshopper, Dynamo) is a plus.
• Understanding of ISO, ASTM, and EN standards related to building materials.

2. Industry Knowledge: Construction and Engineering, Construction Methods, Design Principles, Architectural Design.

3. Soft Skills and Leadership:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address design and production challenges.
• Ability to balance aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability in product development.
• Strong leadership skills to mentor and guide design teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to interact with stakeholders.
• Passion for innovation, sustainability, and acoustic design trends.

4. Additional Skills: Field Experience (Site Measurements, Field Coordination), Project Management, Presentation Skills (Visual communication).

Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, or Product Design.
• 12-15 years of experience in interior product design & development, preferably in acoustic panels, architectural materials, or pet-friendly solutions.
• Strong expertise in acoustic properties, material science, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
• Ability to interpret and apply architectural and engineering specifications.
