Sr. Structural Engineer

JOB PURPOSE:

This position plans, organizes, coordinates, and prepares engineering analysis and design of Structures for assigned engineering/design projects from pre-contract sales support to Order Release and through customer acceptance of deliverables ensuring that technical, quality, schedule and cost commitments are met.

Role & responsibilities

• Prepares engineering analysis of structures like Pipe Rack, Steel Tanks, Equipment supporting structures etc. in accordance with scope, quality and budget requirements for all assigned work for contracts and proposals.
• Monitors and controls all assigned design work for contracts, proposals and the department in accordance with schedule requirements ensuring any variance and scope changes are acted upon and documented in accordance with cost management process.
• Incorporates the use of applicable design standards, software and applicable design codes in the preparation of all design assignments for contracts and proposals.
• Organizes, directs and coordinates all design assignment activities for contract and proposal work in accordance with Corporate Policies, Guidelines and Procedures Manual and Department requirements.
• Maintains effective communication and working relationships within the department and between departments thus promoting a cooperative team atmosphere.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Ability to conceptualize, analyse and produce designs for structures with minimal amount of supervision
• Ability to effectively execute multiple concurrent assignments with minimal amount of supervision
• Deliverables 100% on time in aggregate with less than 5 calendar days variance in schedule due dates.
• Drawing reviews conducted in a timely fashion to support project schedule. Checklists prepared and filed accordingly.
• Design review of Structural design drawings and shop drawings.
• Steel cost estimation and proposal preparation.
• Identifies system and/or process improvements and makes recommendations to Department Manager.
• Participates in project and department meetings.

Preferred candidate profile

• 10-15 years of experience in Design of Industrial Steel Structure (Preferable Power Plant)
• Demonstrated knowledge of design and analysis methods for structural steel and reinforced concrete structures and of AISC, ACI, AWS, IBC, API, NFPA, OSHA, IS Codes, Eurocodes and other applicable codes
• Experience in Civil structures design and detailing is preferred.
• Ready to travel in India & Overseas
