Design Engineer GPD (Global Product Design)

JOB PURPOSE:

The Design Engineer prepares engineering analysis and designs, selects components and prepares mechanical design drawings, bills of material, engineering change notices, and product documentation. This position performs independently or as an assigned member of a project team.

Role & responsibilities:

• Prepares engineering analysis, executes design projects in accordance with design criteria using standard engineering practices. Completed within scope, quality, budget and within timeframes as per priorities.
• Prepares accurate layouts, drawings, and support documentation for assigned tasks following proper procedures.
• Prioritize and complete assigned work packages-based on dues dates.
• Gathers and interprets design data, performs accurate engineering calculations, monitors test programs, conducts technical analysis, and analyses costs against budget.
• Implements plans to resolve design and manufacturing discrepancies, with prompt communication of problem resolution.
• Performs design reviews for drawing completeness as per GPD drafting practices, tolerances, and conformance to GPD conventions and procedures.
• Apply design for manufacturing and assembly principles and ensure that designs meet the criteria of form, fit, and function for the desired application.
• Completion of processing ECRs assigned to GPD-I in a timely manner.
• Communicates project status in a timely manner.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Preferred candidate profile

* Ready to travel in India & Overseas

* Min. 3 years of experience in mechanical product engineering / product development department with material handling projects.

* Problem Solving Attitude

* Good English Communication Skills (Verbal & Written Both)

* Team-Player , Self- Driven with strong integrity , Quick adaptability to new changes
