Job Role/Title : Head - CBS(ASM)
Min and Max Experience : 18- 26
Location : Bengaluru
ROLE PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE :
To maintain and maximize the uptime of CBS applications through constant monitoring and taking corrective action to deliver uninterrupted banking services to the customers and user department to achieve their business targets.
Accountable for minimizing downtime CBS application and taking preventive action for any disruption in banking applications.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE :
1. Business/ Financials :
- Should have good Technical and Functional knowledge in Fiancle Application.
- Have good experience in leading the team and manage escalations.
- Oversee the end-to-end support and maintenance of core banking system (Finacle).
- Ensure system uptime, availability and performance, meeting service level agreements (SLA)
- Manage Incidents, root cause analysis and resolution of system issues to minimize disruptions.
- Implement robust monitoring tools and proactive measures to prevent application failures.
- Lead and monitor a team of support engineers, analysts and developers.
- Manage third-party vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery and SLA compliance.
- Identify opportunities to optimize and improve core banking system performance and user experience.
- Oversee system enhancements, patches, and upgrades while minimizing downtime and risks.
- Work closely with business units, Solution delivery team and senior management to address system requirements and challenges.
- Ensure adherence to banking regulations, cybersecurity standards and internal policies.
- Mitigate risks through effective incident management, disaster recovery planning, and backup strategies.
- Maintain thorough documentation of process, configurations, and incidents for audit purpose.
- Supervise the entire management of process protocols.
- Supervise the data center for applications that are running 24x7 to enable them to perform EOD and SOD as applicable for specific applications.
- Schedule and calendarize EOD and SOD basis daily/weekly /monthly /half yearly requirements and monitor adherence to the same.
- Review the upkeep of all audit trails in the application as per regulatory and internal requirements.
- Review the housekeeping activities of the team and monitor the movement of folder with logs and /database to other defined servers to ensure that the application is not clogged.
2. Customer (Both Internal & External) :
a. Stakeholder Management :
- Drive communication with key stakeholders to resolution: citing outcomes, successes, lessons learned, and next steps
- Collaborate with the Architecture team on the regression testing, study the impact on the application platform and conduct a test under the new environment.
- Share the impact with the Architecture team and ask for the rollback of the application until it is rectified in case of any adverse impact.
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Infrastructure team for the DR drills to be performed and identify shortcomings in the application performance.
- Manage vendors and coordinate with vendors on deliverables related to managed applications.
3. Internal Process :
- Monitor and renew all licenses/AMCS for various applications to prevent any disruption of service.
- Amend the existing SOP as and when required, get it reviewed by the Head- ASM, and approved internally by CIO.
- Supervise the team to act on the quarterly scanning of all applications for any technical glitches/breaches.
- Direct the team to report any such breaches in the incident tracker and rectify the significant breaches immediately.
- Review the monthly published MIS on access privilege to prevent any unauthorized access.
- Direct the team to abide by the access restriction and security measures guided by regulators
- Review the adherence to automated processes as recommended by regulators for specific applications.
- Explore process automation for a reduction in cost, errors and faster response to system problems
- Explore options for IT process automation (ITPA) and RPA (robotic process automation) and perform the cost-benefit analysis.
- Explore and implement RPA for many business functions which are repetitive and where the users do not need any advanced programming knowledge like generation of reports.
- Explore and implement ITPA (information process for process automation) to develop more advanced functionality for complex automation solutions which can be used by the IT teams internally.

- Review the team's existing skill sets to explore the ITPA process, which is more complex and advanced.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS :
Educational :
Qualifications : BE/MCA/BCA
Experience : Must possess a minimum of 18 years of relevant working experience in a senior IT position within a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment
Certifications : ITIL Fundation/Intermediate certification
- Certification in core banking solutions (Optional)
- PMP, PRINCE2 or other project management certifications (Optional)
Functional Skills :
- Knowledge and at least 10 years of latest work experience in leading core banking system like T24, Flex cube, Finacle etc.
- Experience in Core Banking upgrade, Data Migration projects with strong understanding on platform and application upgrade, Migration Strategy, replacement of legacy application etc.
- Sound knowledge of the Banking domain including Retail, International, Wholesale & Treasury products.
- Experience managing the support implementation functions,
- Creative problem-solving skills; comfortable with handling risks and dealing with ambiguous situations.
- Comfortable with leading team and produce quality output within tight schedules.
- Understand organizational metrics and their correlation to business success
- Determine strategic direction around technology and product road mapping
- Familiar with creating IT Procurement documents and Statement of Work contracts, IT Risk Assessments,
Business Strategy and System Architecture
