Senior Software Engineering with Uber - Communication Platform Org

We?re looking for an Senior Software Engineer to join the Growth and Marketing platform team to help the Comms platform become an effective tool to enable diverse use cases such as Inbox offering, handling User Preferences, ads and promotions (marketing) campaigns that enable diverse use cases such as eaters to discover new foods and restaurants to grow their customer base.

You?ll lead and work with teams behind apps used by millions globally every day and be a part of the technical foundations and product growth for these areas. In hundreds of cities, people tap their phones to get a ride, get food delivered, or earn extra cash with Uber; we?re looking for engineering leaders to help us ensure every one of those experiences is magical.

----   What the Candidate Will Do ----

1. Evaluate options, design and implement solutions to meet business goals
2. Collaborate with related teams to establish interface, fill gaps, to reach project goals
3. Productize solutions across the fleet, including close monitoring and revising the solution based on actual observations.
4. Contribute to project scope and planning
5. Mentor junior engineers and interns to grow in leadership abilities
6. Represent own project in internal forums

----   Basic Qualifications ----

1. Bachelor's degree in Compute Science or related field
2. 7+ years Experience in Golang, Java, Python, C/C+
3. Background in large-scale backend infrastructure
4. Knowledge of cluster management solutions such as Mesos or Kubernetes
5. Understanding of container technologies such as docker or containerd
6. Knowledge of operating systems and linux kernel
