Job Description: Exports Sales & Business Development Manager

Key Accountability Statement:

  • Contribute to the Exports function, focusing on Sales & Business Development activities to improve the sales of products.
  • Perform tasks such as contract reviews, collection activities, business development (new products and customers), forecasting customer demand, maintaining customer portals, competitor analysis, and interaction with customers to align their expectations with organizational goals.
  • Achieve targeted export sales volume and contributions through well-defined sales operations, working with sales representatives and distributors while collaborating closely with an in-house team of 15, including NPD (New Product Development) and production teams, to deliver quality products on time.
  • Design and develop new business in emerging markets, identify new customers, focus on new products, and maintain sales volume and contribution, thereby generating cash flow for the organization. Ensure a YOY growth of 25%.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Operations Management:
    • Achieve targeted export sales volume and contribution through structured sales operations, managing dedicated sales representatives and distributors.
    • Collaborate with the in-house teams, including NPD and Production, to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products to customers.
  2. Business Development:
    • Identify and develop new business opportunities in emerging international markets.
    • Acquire new customers, provide competitive offers for new inquiries, and focus on new product launches to maintain sales volume and contribution.
    • Ensure continuous growth and generate cash flow for the organization by developing strong business strategies.
    • Work closely with the NPD team on new product inquiries and assess their feasibility for production.
  3. Customer Relationship Management:
    • Identify potential international customers and manage the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) for customer approvals.
    • Resolve customer issues promptly by interacting with departments like PPC, Production, Quality, MET, and PD to ensure required process improvements and customer satisfaction.
    • Aim to achieve "Customer Delight" through timely responses, problem-solving, and continuous process improvements.
  4. Quality Assurance:
    • Maintain zero non-conformance in exports marketing during IATF (International Automotive Task Force) audits.
    • Actively participate in quality assurance initiatives to ensure compliance with industry standards and improve organizational processes.
  5. Forecasting & Market Analysis:
    • Forecast customer demand accurately, ensuring that products meet market requirements and that timelines are adhered to.
    • Regularly monitor and analyze competitor activities to adapt sales strategies and enhance market positioning.

Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • Proven experience in international sales and business development.
  • Strong understanding of export operations, including PPAP processes and customer interactions.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams (NPD, Production, Quality, etc.) to meet customer expectations.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to provide competitive offers for inquiries.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with international clients.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations and quality assurance standards (IATF).
  • Strong analytical skills to forecast customer demand and evaluate market trends.
