Responsibilities :
- Design and maintain high-performance Kafka clusters.
- Upgrade Kafka clusters from version 3.3.1 to the latest version with minimal downtime.
- Develop monitoring and alerting systems for Kafka.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Kafka-related issues.
- Ensure 24/7 system availability through on-call rotation.
- Collaborate with other engineers to integrate Kafka into existing systems.
- Implement Kafka security best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications :
- 8+ years of experience with Apache Kafka.
- Experience upgrading Kafka clusters, especially from version 3.3.1.
- Strong knowledge of Kafka architecture (topics, partitions, consumers, producers).
- Experience with Kafka Connect, Zookeeper, and Kraft.
- Familiarity with Confluent Kafka and Kubernetes deployments.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Shell.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience with schema registries (e.g., Avro) is desirable.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Confluent Certified Kafka Developer) are a plus.
