Job Description: Manager- Proposal Estimation & Automation Engineering

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional for the role of Manager Proposal Estimation & Automation Engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will have over 10+ years of experience in estimation, proposal management, and automation engineering, along with a strong technical background in instrumentation and control systems. The role demands expertise in developing comprehensive proposals, optimizing costs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing technical leadership in automation and instrumentation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal and Estimation

• Review project requirements, specifications, and tender documents.
• Develop detailed and competitive proposals aligning with client needs, industry standards, and organizational capabilities.
• Define scope of work, system design, and select appropriate automation and instrumentation components.
• Prepare cost estimates for automation and instrumentation equipment, installation, and commissioning.
• Collaborate with procurement to secure vendor quotes and optimize costs.
• Assess risks and incorporate contingencies in proposals.
• Prepare comparison sheets and analyze data for pre-bid inquiries and tenders.
• Manage internal proposal reviews, approvals, budgets, and timelines.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical expertise on PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, VFDs, and panel designing.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, developing new partnerships and alternates for existing components.
• Oversee and mentor the proposal team, allocating tasks and ensuring timely completion.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for clients during the proposal stage, addressing queries and conducting presentations.

Automation and Instrumentation

• Design system architectures and develop automation programs based on P&ID and project requirements.
• Lead installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automation systems.
• Expertise in programming Rockwell, Siemens, and Mitsubishi hardware and software.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as Ethernet, DeviceNet, and ControlNet.
• Develop project-specific programming, testing, and integration plans.

Project Execution and Support

• Manage the execution of automation and instrumentation projects, ensuring on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for seamless project execution.
• Provide service and upgradation support for existing systems.
• Document project progress, technical details, and customer feedback for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 10+ years of experience in estimation, proposal preparation, automation engineering, and instrumentation.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, VFDs, soft starters, and panel designing.
• Proficiency in Rockwell, Siemens, and Mitsubishi hardware and software.
• Experience with AutoCAD, system design, and networking protocols.
• Familiarity with certifications, area classification, and tendering processes.
