Job Description :

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automation Systems Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems across our operations.

You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of automation projects, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and support. This position requires a strong understanding of automation principles, programming skills, experience with various automation hardware and software, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities :

- Automation System Design : Design and develop automated systems, including specifying hardware and software components, creating schematics, and developing control logic. Consider factors such as safety, reliability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness.

- Programming and Configuration : Program and configure automation systems using various programming languages (i.e., PLC programming languages like Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram, as well as scripting languages like Python, JavaScript) and software platforms (i.e., SCADA, HMI).

- Hardware Integration : Integrate various automation hardware components, such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators, robots, vision systems, and communication networks. Ensure proper wiring, configuration, and communication between devices.

- Testing and Validation : Develop and execute test plans to validate the functionality and performance of automated systems. Perform system integration testing, functional testing, and user acceptance testing.

- Commissioning and Deployment : Commission and deploy automated systems at the production site. Provide on-site support during startup and ensure smooth transition to operations.

- Troubleshooting and Maintenance : Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing automated systems. Perform preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and longevity. Provide technical support to operations teams.

- Documentation : Create and maintain detailed documentation for automated systems, including design specifications, programming code, user manuals, and maintenance procedures.

- Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for improvement in existing automated systems. Research and evaluate new automation technologies and propose solutions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and safety.

- Collaboration : Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and maintenance, to ensure successful implementation and support of automated systems.

- Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety regulations and standards related to automation systems. Implement safety measures to protect personnel and equipment.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.

- 3+ years (or specify desired range) of proven experience as an Automation Systems Engineer.

- Strong programming skills in PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram) and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript).

- Experience with SCADA/HMI software platforms (i.e., Ignition, FactoryTalk, WinCC).

- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (i.e., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).

- Experience with various automation hardware components (PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators, robots, vision systems).

- Understanding of control systems principles and automation concepts.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and regulations.

Preferred Skills (Optional) :

- Experience with specific PLC brands (i.e., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron).

- Experience with specific robot brands (i.e., Fanuc, ABB, KUKA).

- Experience with machine learning and AI in automation.

- Knowledge of cloud-based automation solutions.

- Experience with data analytics and reporting for automation systems
