Deputy General Manager - Indirect Taxation (Pune)

2Role & responsibilities: The Head PV Customs will oversee the Import & Export related Customs compliance function for TMPVL and TPEM. Understanding and analyzing the impact of updates on the legislation and judicial precedents on the open matters. Responsible for tracking the overall update and status of the assigned matters.

Preferred candidate profile :

• Handling EXIM operational function, ensuring effective compliance of customs procedures.
• Ensure that all the concessional duty benefits as applicable are availed and related compliance are met.
• Unlocking value / Free Cash Flow through timely realization of Export Incentives
• Advice and support business on various policy matters and operational issues to ensure correct practices, various compliance are met.
• Tracking rulings to ascertain applicability on ongoing litigation and review of tax positions. Also, to track amendments made by Govt. in legal provisions.
• Provide regular updates to the Head- CoE on the status of the ongoing litigation
• Updating Sr. Management on a periodical and on event basis on matters involving potential tax exposures. To provide inputs for Advocacy points.
• Ensure timely filing of Contingent Liability/ CARO/ Risk Assessment Statements, Financial Schedules related to Customs area.
• Periodic review of Tax GLs & ensure proper schedule preparation and GL reconciliation.

Essential & Desirable Education/Qualifications/ Work experience/technical skills i.e. what are the 'must haves' for this role.

Functional Knowledge (Must Have) :

• Well versed / in depth knowledge of Indirect Taxes including Customs & FTP.
• Experience of team handling.
• Experience and knowledge in tax regulations, laws and standards.
