AM - Engineering & Design

Software Proficiency:

• AutoCAD 2D/3D, MAXSURF, Ship Constructor (or other 3D ship design software), MS Office.

Experience:

• Experience in a Ship Design House/Shipyard Design House is preferable.

Skills and Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of ship stability, structural design, and statutory plans.
• Basic understanding of powering calculations, launching, and similar ship design calculations.
• Understanding of fundamental ship design and construction drawings.
• Knowledge of relevant rules and standards, including SOLAS, Load Line Regulations, IRS Rules, and Naval Rules.
• Familiarity with procedures such as inclining experiments and launching.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Design and Documentation:
• Prepare stability booklets as per rule requirements.
• Conduct launching calculations and other basic ship design calculations.
• Prepare and maintain necessary documentation for ship design.
2. Coordination and Compliance:
• Collaborate with the production team to monitor weights and maintain records related to ship design.
• Coordinate procedures for inclining experiments and launching.
3. Standard Adherence:
• Ensure designs comply with relevant international and national standards and regulations.
