Job Title: Deputy General Manager - Finance & Accounts

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Location: Chennai

Job Summary:

The Deputy General Manager - Finance & Accounts is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance. This role will also involve managing the finance team, budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis to support the company's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning & Analysis:

• Develop and oversee financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
• Analyze financial performance and provide insights to the management team.
• Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.

2. Accounting & Reporting:

• Ensure timely preparation and presentation of financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
• Monitor and improve accounting processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.

3. Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including tax filings, audits, and other financial regulations.
• Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies.

4. Cash Flow & Treasury Management:

• Monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for operations.
• Manage banking relationships and oversee loan/credit negotiations.

5. Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team to achieve department goals.
• Conduct performance reviews and identify opportunities for team development.

6. Strategic Initiatives:

• Support management in strategic decision-making by providing financial insights.
• Evaluate investment opportunities and assess financial feasibility.
• Contribute to the development of long-term organizational strategies.

7. Cost Optimization:

• Implement cost control measures to improve operational efficiency.
• Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.

Qualifications:

• Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost Accountant (CMA), or MBA in Finance (or equivalent qualification).
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in finance and accounts, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax laws, and corporate finance.
• Experience in ERP systems and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
