Job Summary:
- The Business Unit Head will be responsible for overseeing and driving the strategic, operational, and financial performance of a specific business unit within the company.
- The role requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record of business management, leadership, and P&L responsibility.
- As a key member of the executive team, you will define and execute strategies that align with the company's overall objectives and ensure the growth and profitability of your business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Vision:
- Define the vision, strategy, and objectives for the business unit, aligning them with the overall company strategy and goals.
- Lead the development and execution of short-term and long-term business plans, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic direction.
- Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to proactively identify opportunities and threats.
- Work closely with the executive team to ensure cross-functional alignment and execution of business goals.
P&L Management & Financial Oversight:
- Own the P&L for the business unit, ensuring financial performance meets or exceeds targets.
- Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across the unit's operations, sales, and marketing.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions to achieve profitability targets.
- Develop pricing strategies, cost controls, and operational improvements to maximize unit performance and growth.
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the business unit, ensuring the efficient and effective execution of processes.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage the supply chain, production, and distribution activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products/services.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards to maintain operational integrity.
Sales & Marketing Leadership:
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement go-to-market strategies that drive revenue growth and market penetration.
- Support business development initiatives, including new customer acquisition, strategic partnerships, and product launches.
- Guide the sales team to meet or exceed revenue targets by setting clear goals, monitoring performance, and providing support and resources.
- Drive the development and execution of marketing campaigns to enhance brand visibility, customer engagement, and competitive positioning.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of managers and staff to achieve business goals.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and innovation.
- Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback, coaching, and support to ensure continuous growth and development.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and retention efforts to ensure the business unit has the talent needed to succeed.
Customer & Stakeholder Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders to enhance business growth and customer loyalty.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by overseeing the delivery of quality products/services and promptly addressing customer issues.
- Act as the primary point of contact for business unit stakeholders, including the executive team, customers, suppliers, and investors.
